1. What type of Visa can I apply for online?

You can only apply for Tourist and Business Visas with eVisa. In the case of Tourist Visa, a special 24 hour Tourist Visa Express Service is available for faster processing.

2. If I have more than one passport, can I apply for the Visa using the particulars from the first passport and then travel with the second passport?

Travelers are allowed to enter Myanmar with the passport being issued the eVisa.

3. Is there any validity restriction of inviting company registration for Business Visa?

The Inviting registered company must have at least 6 months of registration until 31 January 2018 onward, the inviting registered company must have at least 3 months validity of registration.

4. Can I apply using eVisa if I am traveling with a Group Tour?

Yes. Group Tours can also apply with online eVisa. Individuals need to apply and pay separately.

5. Can I print my Visa in Black and White?

Yes, as long as it is legible to the Immigration Officer.

6. My trip is delayed and my eVisa is expired. Can you change my eVisa validity date?

We are not able change the validity dates on your eVisa. We encourage you to re-apply for another visa.

7. I plan to travel from Myanmar to another country for a short trip and return back to Myanmar again. Do I need to apply two Visas within such a short period of time?

Yes, you will need to apply for two eVisas. Each eVisa is only valid for a single entry.

8. I plan to travel to Myanmar three months later, can I apply now? If not, when can I start applying?

The validity of permitted visa is (90) days.

9. If my online eVisa application is denied, will I be able to apply for a Tourist Visa through a Myanmar Embassy or Consulate?

Yes. You may apply for your visa at a Myanmar Embassy or Consulate, or try your application again using eVisa. However, Visa application verification and approval policies are the same across all embassies and online applications.

10. I understand that passport holders from 100 countries are eligible to apply using eVisa for Tourist Visa.Will more countries be added?

We have a plan to add more countires in the near future.

11. How do I enter to and exit from Myanmar using eVisa?

With eVisa, you can enter at any one of the following:

1. One of the 3 International Airports: Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw
2. One of the 5 International Land Border Checkpoints: Tachileik, Myawaddy, Kawthaung, Tamu, Rih Khaw Dar

To exit from Myanmar, you can use any one of above stated International Airports , International Land Border Checkpoints and furthermore, the Htikee Land Border Checkpoint as well.

12.Will Visa on Arrival be available, and Myanmar Embassies and Consulates continue to issue visa even with eVisa officially available?

Yes.You may apply for a visa with online eVisa, or continue to apply at a Myanmar Embassy or Consulate near your location.Please keep in mind that Visa on Arrival is for Business Visa only, and proper documentation must be on hand or entry may be denied.

14.May I know the latest rules, regulations, conditions for visas?

The official website of Ministry of Labour, Immigration and has the latest official rules and regulations for visitors.

15. Can I contact any Myanmar Embassy to check on the status of my eVisa?

No. Please check your eVisa status online. Once your eVisa application is approved, an Approval Letter is sent directly to your designated e-mail address.

16. Will I receive my visa by post, or do I collect it at the Myanmar checkpoint?

Your visa will be issued and stamped inside your passport at the Myanmar Immigration Arrival counter, after you show your printed copy of the eVisa Approval Letter. When your eVisa application is approved, the Approval Letter is sent directly to your designated e-mail address.

17. How do I receive my eVisa Approval Letter?

When your eVisa application has been approved an Approval Letter is sent to your designated email address. Alternatively you may download your Approval Letter via Visa Application Status Enquiry at Please take note that the download option is only available if your application has already been approved.

18. Do I have to print the Approval Letter, or can I show an electronic version or photo of it to the Immigration officer?

You are currently required to print out the eVisa Approval Letter and present it to the Immigration Officer upon arrival. Failure to provide a printed copy may delay your entry.

19. How many days can I stay in Myanmar using Visa issued with eVisa?

Your are permitted to stay 28 days for Tourist Visa, 70 days for Business Visa.

20. How long will it take to receive my Approval Letter?

You will receive an application acknowledgment first. The processing time is up to 3 working days for normal Business and Tourist Visa, and 24 hours for Tourist Visa Express Service (365 days a year). In all cases, processing time starts when the application acknowledgement e-mail is sent, after application is submitted AND online payment is successful.

21. May I know the reasons why an application is rejected?

Reasons will not be provided for rejected applications.

22.When applying, what is the policy for weekends and official public holidays?

For regular Business and Tourist visa, processing is within 3 working days excluding weekends and public holidays Myanmar time. For Tourist Visa Express Service, processing is within 24 hours, 365 days a year.

23. Can I make payment offline?

Only online payment methods are accepted.

24. Do I get a refund if my application is rejected?

As stated in our Terms & Conditions, no refunds are issued under any circumstances.

25. Do I need to queue at Visa on Arrival desk when I reach Myanmar with eVisa?

eVisa is not a Visa on Arrival hence there is no need to queue for any visa sticker. Proceed straight to immigration counter when you arrive.

26. I have completed my application and payment but there is no email confirmation, what do I do?

Please check your Spam or Junk mail folder, and wait 1 hour before contacting us.

27. What size is the entry stamp on the passport for eVisa?

Normal entry stamp which is approximately 1.5x1.5 inches will be used.

28. How long is the approval letter valid for?

Approval letter is valid for 90 days from the date of issue.

29. How safe are my credit card details?

For secure online payment, we use Secure Socket Layers (SSL) to keep your credit card details safe. In no cases will your debit/credit card details be transmitted unencrypted over the Internet, and they are not stored on our systems.

30. My credit card is valid and I entered it it correctly, but it was not accepted by your system. Why?

Most payment problems are due to security measures by issuing bank, payment gateway or issues with card itself. We have 2 payment gateways available for debit and credit card processing, eNETS and UOB. If one does not work, we encourage you to try the other before contacting us.
In our experience, most of the payment problems are due to one of the following issues::
  • (a) You may have mis-entered your card number.
  • (b) You may have reached credit or account limit for your card.
  • (c) You may have entered incorrect card expiration date or your card has expired.
  • (d) You have entered incorrect One Time Password (OTP) Code.
  • (e) Your card is not enabled for online or overseas payments by your Issuing Bank. Our card payments are securely processed by eNETS and UOB in Singapore.
  • (f) Your credit card must have 3D Security feature enabled by the issuing bank, for your protection.
  • In most cases, it is best to contact your debit or credit card issuing bank to understand while the transaction was declined.

31. I have already applied Tourist visa through eVisa online system. Can I change it to Business or Social visa?

No. Visa cannot be changed to other visa types such as Business and Social.

32. Do children under age of 7 who hold their own passports need to have a separate eVisa application?

Yes. Children under age of 7 who hold their own passports are required to apply and pay for their own separate eVisa. If your child is under 7 and is listed in parent/guardian passport accompanying them on the trip, then please fill out the minor information included in eVisa application form.

33. I entered my information (Full Name/ Nationality / Passport Number / Email address) incorrectly. Could you please modify it?

Applicants are responsible for the correctness of all information submitted during the application process.
